Vermont Electric Power Company (VELCO) Names New Chief Financial Officer

Rutland (VT) – Neal E. Robinson has joined Vermont Electric Power Company (VELCO) as Vice President - Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer responsible for all financial and fiscal aspects of VELCO operations effective immediately.  “Neal’s 20-year record of unquestioned integrity and impressive professional experience in banking and higher education precisely match our needs to secure capital for transmission reliability projects and to further embrace continuous learning”, noted John Donleavy, VELCO President and CEO.  “He’s an excellent fit for our future.” 

Robinson, 52, had recently been voted on to VELCO’s Board of Directors when this position became open, “Since I’ve been associated with VELCO, I have been extremely impressed by the leadership style and resulting company culture.  The leadership team here is highly energetic and dynamic, a group I’m excited about joining.  I hadn’t been looking, but the opportunity to participate in and hopefully contribute to the continued success of VELCO was too attractive to pass up.”

Robinson leaves his position, held since 1999, as Vice President for Finance at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vermont.  Prior to joining the college, he had worked for ten years as Senior Vice President & Treasurer; Chief Accounting Officer for Banknorth Group, Inc. in Burlington, Vermont.  Neal and his wife Karen reside in Essex Junction.
