VELCO Names Mark Sciarrotta as New Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer
Rutland, VT, April 13, 2023 – Vermont Electric Power Company (VELCO) President and CEO Tom Dunn today announced the election of Mr. Mark Sciarrotta to serve as VELCO’s Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. Today’s unanimous vote by the Company’s Board of Directors represents Mr. Sciarrotta’s latest advancement in his over 15-year career at VELCO.

Mark’s business experience, record of accomplishment, and network of relationships make him the perfect choice at this time of transformational change in our industry,” said CEO Tom Dunn. In many instances, Mark has helped to secure these outcomes and as such has earned the opportunity to take on even greater responsibility. He’s the right hire at the right time.”

Prior to his arrival at VELCO, Mr. Sciarrotta worked as an Assistant Attorney General at the Vermont Attorney General’s Office where he represented the State in all aspects of complex civil litigation and criminal prosecutions in state and federal courts, including jury trials and appeals. He defended takings claims, environmental permit appeals, and constitutional challenges, as well as prosecuted major environmental cases.
Mr. Sciarrotta earned his law degree from Vermont Law School and his undergraduate degree from Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. Mark and his three children currently reside in Montpelier, Vermont.
