Rutland, VT – (October 19, 2017):¬†Thanks to the proceeds of VELCO’s 22nd annual charity golf tournament, two organizations that provide essential mental health and substance abuse treatment to Vermonters have checks totaling nearly $15,000 to support their work. The Howard Center and Evergreen Substance Abuse Service were this year’s recipients, as more than 100 golfers gathered for a good cause at the Proctor-Pittsford County Club on September 9.

Golf tournament organizer, Sue Notte, said “The VELCO golf event began as a way to bring VELCO family and friends together, and we are proud to watch it transform into a wonderful event that makes a difference by giving back more and more to the Vermont community each year. This year’s total contributions surpassed all past events.”

VELCO extends a heartfelt thank you to all the sponsors, players and volunteers for making the 2017 charity golf event a great success.
